Three Masters of Copy who are not “Copywriters”
Introduction
Copywriting is the art and science of persuading people to take certain actions. The “copy” in copywriting simply means prose, and a good copy is any piece of text that communicates well.
The copywriter’s job is to understand their audience and design a message that resonates with them. They use the right words, images, and graphics to engage with consumers on a more emotional level. Copywriters are also responsible for making sure that the content of the text is accurate and informative.
Copywriting can be divided into three categories: advertising copywriting, persuasive copywriting, and technical writing.
Advertising copywriters create advertising campaigns aimed at boosting sales of a company’s products or services.
Persuasive copywriters create texts designed to convince readers of a specific idea or cause.
Technical writers write instructional documents about a product or service for consumers or other audiences who lack expert knowledge on a topic, such as those similar
Copy that Sells Indirectly
There are many master writers who turn out exquisite pieces of copy who are not “copywriters” since they do not write direct sales copy. But they still sell, albeit indirectly, the products, personalities, and services that they so skillfully review.
Since they are so good with the words, you also don’t want to be around them when they don’t like your product or service. Their mighty sword uplifts and reflects light on their favorite objects. But the same instrument can also cut and dissect like a laser beam.
Here are the three non-copywriter masters of the copy that I recommend you read:
1) Frank Deford
Deford was an award-winning sports author with fifteen books, a Senior Contributing Writer at Sports Illustrated, and a commentator on NPR.

Conclusion
Copywriting masters come in all stripes and niches. Most are employed in advertising and marketing but there are those who write film and auto reviews, or sports columns as well. Follow them all for inspiration and emulation.
