Personal Productivity Tips and Tools

Here are some personal productivity tools and tips for you:
*** Track Your Documents ***
You have sent a PDF or Word document by email. But do you know if it has been read at all?
Now there is a software that can tell you not only if your attachment is read but also
*  Date, time, location, ISP, etc regarding each reading
*  Details on whether or not it was forwarded (and where possible; to whom)
*  Which pages of your PDF were read
*  Length of time read
*  How many times it was opened and re-opened (with optional instant notifications each time)
and more.    http://www.readnotify.com/readnotify/

*** Resume Tip ***
On the average, an HR recruiter spends only 20 seconds on a resume before deciding either to pass it on the respective manager or thrash it.
Thus number one function of a resume is to help the recruiter skim through it and help him or her get the highlights of your profile in a hurry.
One thing we usually do is write Location and Dates right after the Company or School names. That interrupts the vertical sweep of the eye.
Instead, print all Location and Date information right-adjusted, to the right edge of your resume page and separate them from Company/School names. That’ll make a resume much easier on the eye and improve your chances of getting noticed.

***3 techniques for writing strong headlines***
1–Ask a question … but make sure it’s a question to which the reader wants to know the answer.
Example: “What Do Japanese Managers Have That American Managers Sometimes Lack?”
2–Tie-in to current events … a news angle is especially
effective when promoting financial publications and other
products affected by current events on a daily basis.
Example: “Stay One Step Ahead of the Stock Market Just Like Martha Stewart – But Without Her Legal Liability!”
3–Create a new terminology … you can literally create a brand or product category by expressing an old idea in a fresh and compelling way.
Example: “New ‘Polarized Oil’ Magnetically Adheres to Wear Parts in Machine Tools, Making Them Last Up to 6 Times Longer.”
