How to Create Object Styles in Adobe FrameMaker
One of the great new features introduced with Adobe FrameMaker is the “Object Styles” — the ability to assign styles to anchored frames, text frames, images, etc.
By using Object Styles, for example, you can make sure all your anchored frames throughout a document will be of the same size, positioned to the left of the page with related text wrapping around on the right size. That will make sure your descriptions are right next to your images and it will help you keep your page count to a minimum as well.
There are two ways to create an Object Style in FM11: from scratch and from a selected object.
Creating an Object Style from scratch:
1) Place your cursor where you’d like to have the page object placed.
2) Select Graphics > Object Style Designer to display the Object Style Designer dialog box:
3) Click each link in the navigation pane and discover all the values you can set for your style. Fill the fields as you like.
4) Enter a name in the Object Style field.
5) Click Save.
6) To apply the style to a selected object, click Graphics > Object Catalog. Then select a style and double click it to apply.
Creating an Object Style from a selected object:
1) Select the object (or objects) the style of which you’d like to use as a basis for your new Object Style.
2) Select Graphics > Object Style Designer to display the Object Style Designer dialog box.
3) Edit the fields as you see fit.
4) Enter a name in the Object Style field.
5) Click Save.
6) To apply the style to a selected object, click Graphics > Object Catalog. Then select a style and double click it to apply.
