ZigZag Your Way to Success by Changing Jobs
7 Steps to Changing Your Career
Did You Know That…
Col. Sanders was a streetcar conductor and an insurance salesman before he created the famous KFC when he was 65 years old?
Ray Kroc was a piano player and paper cup salesman before he created McDonald’s?
Rodney Dangerfield sold house siding for 12 years before he became a standup comedian?
Steeve McQueen was a motorcycle racer, gang member, sailor, brothel worker, oil rig roughneck, President Truman’s honor guard protecting the President’s yacht as a U.S. Marine… all before he became an actor?
Ulysses S. Grant worked as a farmer, firewood salesman, bill collector, tannery salesman before he become the commander of the Union forces during the American Civil War?
A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada was a householder and pharmacist before he created the global Hare Krishna movement?
They were all big-time zigzaggers.
Zigzagging in Nature and Life…
There are no straight lines in nature. It’s all about zigzags and curves.
When someone passes away, they say he “flatlined.”
Age of Pandemic…
In this age of pandemic, zigzagging is more urgent a need than ever.
Why?
Because most of the jobs lost during 2020-2021 are not coming back.
Those who can zigzag to new opportunities will be the winners. Those who can adapt to the new turns on the road will continue to find new jobs and prosper.

This book will help you survive in the new economy by zigzagging through seven steps:
Step 1 – Take Inventory

The Right Book for the Right Time
This book is updated during the 2020-2021 COVID-19 pandemic since I believe it’s now more relevant than ever.
Consider the unimaginable structural breakdown COVID has caused all over the world.
Back in 2019, the future looked like a smooth continuation of the past. Then the COVID pandemic hit like a ton of bricks.
Untold millions suddenly found themselves unemployed, facing an uncertain and scary feature.
That was the kind of jolt no one could have predicted.
All of a sudden, a career zigzag was not an interesting idea anymore, but a necessity dictated by an invisible enemy.
We are still feeling the effects of this historic meltdown.
Many Jobs are Not Coming Back
Many careers hit by the pandemic are not viable anymore. Waiters are learning computer programming. Bus drivers are studying stock market strategies and trading bitcoins.
Many jobs lost during the COVID pandemic are not coming back.
“Businesses are planning for a future where more people are working from home, traveling less for business, or replacing workers with robots. All of these modifications mean many workers will not be able to do the same job they did before the pandemic,” said a Washington Post story.
Perfect Time for a Zigzag
A Ceridian study (which was conducted by Nielsen among 5,010 respondents in Canada, U.S., U.K., Australia and New Zealand) has found that 64% of those surveyed are looking to change careers due to what has happened to their old jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Of those who are under 30 years, 76% said they were looking for a new position or career.
Straight up is out. Zigzag is in.
The zigzagging strategies presented in this book are what the doctor has ordered for our hard times.
I hope you’ll find them motivating.
